Hoping to find someone who has straightened out the confusing mess of the multiple Henry Sniders (and descendants credited to both of them) as chronicled in Morton's History of Preston County [until 1818 this area was part of Monongalia County which is why I'm posting here]. I am descended from Joel Smith and Anna Snider but the Snider info is so confusing and contradictory in this book that I can figure out who her parents are...

One of the Henry's has a daughter Anne m. Joel Smith; the other Henry has daughter Ann m. to Joe Smith. However, Joel and Anna used "Browning" as the middle name of one of their children and Browning goes with the Ann m. Joe not Anne m. Joel! There are many other weirdnesses including many of the same children and their spouses listed for both Henrys.

Any help?
