I own two books on Monongalia County. "1815 Directory of Virginia Landowners for Monongalia County" and Virginia Revolutionary Public Claims for Monongalia County". I also have several pages copied from Marriage book A for Monongalia County spanning years 1816 to 1831, no complete accounting but several various pages sent to me by the county clerk when I inquired about my own family. If you would like me to do a lookup please put "Monongalia Lookup" in the subject line.

The only Boyer entry is in the 1815 Directory of Landowners and that is a Daniel Boyer. There are two entries the first lists no land. The second shows Daniel Boyer owning land on Laurel Run, 17 miles north of the courthouse in Morgantown. I don't know if this is one person or if there were in fact two Daniels. There were no other listings for Boyer

Could you look up land information for ISAAC VAN CAMP who was supposedly granted 640 acres as a result of being a pvt. in the Revolution?

Thanks,

Jeanne

Hello,

There is no Van Camp listed, but I check under just "Camp". There is listed an Isaac Camp who had land on the Monongalia River 3 miles west of the courthouse in Morgantown.

Isaac did have land by the river - he had a stone quarry from which he made grist stones. But he also had a grandson Isaac. Is there any date on that land item?

Hello, do you have a Henry Dorton in any of your information.
His sons were Levi, Henry, Jr; John, Bethuel & Nimrod, and their surnames were Dolton & Dalton. They lived in Monongalia County and were b. bet. 1783-1806.
Thanks so very much for your volunteering. It is appreciated.

Hello,

There is nothing in any of the information I have regarding your surname in any form. But I only have access to the 1815 Directory of Landowners and the Virginia Revolutionary Public Claims. Those claims are not for men who served but rather citizens who donated supplies. Sorry I couldn't be of some help.
