Jesse Hughes (Sr), the famed indian hunter, had a son, Jesse b.1771 in Harrison Co, Va (WV), d. ?? Mason Co., VA (WV?). Jesse (Jr.) married Susan Mock on Feb.22, 1800 in Harrison Co., VA (WV). Jesse Hughes (Jr.) had a son James M. (Madison?) Hughes b.Dec 02, 1802 d.1873 in Cottageville, WV. James M. Hughes married Susan Price b.Nov 14, 1812 d.1854 in Cottageville, WV. James and Susan Hughes had a dau., Almira (also Elmira, possibly Nellie A.) b.Feb 19, 1948 (have seen 1938 also) in Meigs Co., OH. d.Feb 02, 1933 in Parkersburg, WV. The only part of this that I have personally documented is Elmira (Hughes) Holtz information. I have a copy of her death certificate as she was my great-grandmother.
