I believe that Marcus
Dempsey Rice lived in
Mineral County by 1910 (Owner of cemetery lots in 1909), but I don't have him in the census during that time. He was married to Laura
Harman (I believe they married about 1910) and had several children. Laura died of the flu in 1918. One of their children died in 1915.

"Ruey E. Rice, the 17 - month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dempsie
Rice, died this morning of peritinitis, at their home on
Piedmont street. The funeral will take place tomorrow at the home, Rev. G. G. Martin, of the M. E. church, officiating. Interment will be made in Queens Point cemetery. --- Keyser
Daily News, Aug. 26."
According to the above death notice, this child was buried in Queens Point Cemetery. However, I haven't found
Ruey Rice in the online transcription of this cemetery.
Dempsey owned his own business in the
Keyser area (Source: 1930 census). His next wife was named Maggie and they were married before 1920. I would appreciate any information on Dempsey's family. I would really like to know when he died and where he is buried. Thank you in advance.
