PRINCETON — Everett H. Bailey, age 80, of 101 Fairview Street, Princeton, W.Va., was called home by God on May 15, 2008. He was one of the sweetest men to ever walk on Earth.Born on October 16, 1927 in Maybeury, W.Va., he was a son of the late Frank and DELLA WOODS Bailey. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Bland, Va. He was retired from the US Steel Corporation as a coal miner. On December 26, 1950 he married the love of his life, Zelda Joyce NUNLEY Bailey. Even through his time of illness, he thought about her
first and was concerned for her care. He was a loving and caring father and grandfather to his sons and grandchildren. His love and memory will carry and guide us the rest of our days on Earth just as he carried us all these years until now. He will always be loved by his family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ray Bailey.

Survivors: Wife of 57 years, Zelda Joyce NUNLEY Bailey of the home; sons: Randy Bailey and wife Eva of Christiansburg, Va., David Bailey and wife Linda of Bland, Va.; grandchildren: Kyle Bailey, Drew Bailey, Lee Bailey and wife Gabrielle, Brandon Bailey, Katie Bailey, Jason Hagy, and Kari Havens and husband Josh; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Isaiah, and Carter; special young man, Colt Walker; special friends: Ken and Evelyn Dunn of Princeton and Sam and Jeanette Bernard of Bland, Va.; brothers: Bud, Donnie, and Charlie Bailey; sisters: Lena, Judy, and Phyllis.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at the Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell with the Rev. Kenneth Dunn and family officiating. Burial will follow at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, Va. where the West Virginia Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside Honors. Ray Marlen "Jam up" Bailey

BLUEFIELD - Ray Marlen "Jam up" Bailey, 70, of Route 2, Box 410-FF, Bluefield 24701, passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at Princeton Community Hospital.

Born Sept. 9, 1935 at Maybeury, he was the son of the late Frank M. and DELLA WOODS Bailey. Mr. Bailey had worked for 24 years with US Steel No. 9 Mine and was a retired miner, he was a member of the UMWA, and he attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy PANNEL Bailey and a brother, William Junior Bailey.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce POORE Bailey of Route 2, Box 410-FF, Bluefield; two sons, Freddy Ray Bailey and wife Carol of Bluefield, and Ronald Dean Bailey of Bluefield; one stepson, David Coates and wife Joan Bluefield; three daughters, Teresa Harless and Tommy Smith of Bluefield, Debbie Folks and husband Ernest of Coopers, Rebecca Hudgins and husband Johnny of Route 3, Bluefield; two stepdaughters, Lisa Coates of Montcalm and Vickie Walker of Bluewell; four brothers, Everette Bailey and wife Zelda of Princeton, Walter Bailey and wife Sarah of Pocahontas, Va., Donnie Bailey and wife Carol of Coaldale, and Charlie Bailey and wife Pat of Bluewell; three sisters, Lena MILLER and husband Charles of Princeton, Judy CLOWERS and husband James of Montcalm, Phyllis PEARCY and husband Cecil of Coaldale; seven grandchildren and 10 step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2006 at Cravens-Shires Funeral Home Chapel in Bluewell with the Rev. Tony MILLER and the Rev. David Barnette officiating. Burial will follow in Grandview Memory Gardens, Bluefield.

Friends may call today, May 11, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Roland POORE, Jim Walls, Roger Blevins, Stuart Brown will serve as pallbearers.

Cravens-Shires Funeral Home in Bluewell is serving the Bailey family.
