I am looking for information on my great grandfather, John Wesley Shimp and his son, my grandfather, Thomas Shimp who lived in Marshall Co., WV. John Shimp was born about 1830 to 1833. He died in 1870 or 1871. His family is listed in the Marshall Co. census of 1870 and 1880, Washington Dist. Thomas Shimp was born in 1871 in Marshall Co. Thomas was married to Frances Peters and the lived in Moundsville. John Wesley Shimp is connected to the John Shimp who married Rachel DeHaven in Frederick Co., VA, April 11, 1811. Rachel died in Belmont Co., OH and is supposed to be buried in Moundsville. I am also trying to find the connection between my great grandfather and Rachel and John.
