Yes Orville Dingess is my father, his father is Henery dingess, his siblings are william dingess, bill dingess, arlie dingess, and edna dingess.
his uncles are dan dingess and lee dingess on his fathers side. cloie singess is his mother.

I am seeking information on Mary Vance who was the first wife of Luke Curry (aka L. C. Curry). Information that I have pieced together thus far is that they were probably married about 1866. Their children were Eli Francis Curry (b. abt 1866), Louisa Curry (b. abt 1867), George Ransom Curry (b. abt 1869), John H Curry (b. abt 1870), Robert G Curry (B. abt 1873), Minnis S Curry (b. abt 1873), Albert S Curry (b. abt 1876), Joseph E Curry (b. abt 1878). Luke remarried 14 April 1880 to Mary Jane Ellis. Mary Vance Curry headstone gives date of death as 1875 but apparently is in error as there are children being born thru 1878 (unless of course that information is wrong). Mary Vance Curry was buried in the Ellis Cemetery that was relocated due to construction of road from Chapmanville to Logan. She is now interred at the Peck's Mill Cemetery. Luke and his other two wives (Mary Jane Ellis and Preshy Burgess) were also relocated from Ellis Cemetery to Peck's Mill. Who is Mary Vance Curry? Thanks. Russell E Bennett Jr (wvoa@aol.com)

Information on Meade Family Logan County West Virginia

Looking for information on my husband's great grandfather's family James Hansford Meade. Several of his family members including his wife died in a gas leak in their house in Logan County West Virginia. His wife was Mary Jane Meade and I don't know her maiden name. This occured int the winter of 1960 or early months of 1961 still in the winter. Would love to find any information on this. I think they are buried in the Forest Lawn Cemetery. Would also like to find andy information and obituaries from this event.

I'm looking for the name of the cemetery just behind what used to be the gasoline & service station and may still be ran by Ade Dingess and the old Dingess home near the mouth of Mud Fork. Buried in that cemetery are, among others, Albert Dingess Jr., Molly Agenes Dingess, Ford Dingess, Norman and Meredith Manning, Leander and Elizabeth Gore.

My grandmother was Lilly Dale Dingess, born in 1893 in Logan co. Her mother died when she was an infant, and she was raised by Walter & Mary Johnson in Logan & Cabell Co. I am trying to find out who her parents were. Her death certificate lists her father as Erwin Dingess & her mother's maiden name as Bryant. Mary Johnson's mother's maiden name was Dingess, & the 1900 census lists Lilly as a cousin in the Johnson household. There is an Emma or Emmer Dingess who died in Logan co in 1893. Her husband is listed as Andy. Could this possibly be them? Can anyone help me?

James and Louise had 4 children in Hamilton Creek (Laurel Hill Dist.), Lincoln County before James left the family sometime between 1906 and 1910. James died 6/14/35 at Shamrock, Logan County and is buried in Foley Cemetery at Melville, WV. It is suspected that James went back to Mingo County in or about 1910 and ultimately married Arisba (Risby) White when reviewing the 1910 and 1920 census for Harvey Dist. Mingo County, WV. In the 1910 census for Laurel Hill Dist. Lincoln County, it shows Louise Aldridge as head of the family and the children were daughter: Hattie May Aldridge (know as Aunt Hattie by many family members)who married Clarence Nelson of Lincoln County. Son of John Wesley Nelson and Mary L. Mullins-Nelson and grandson of Emanuel and Mary McCann-Nelson. Daughter: Dassie and no other information known at this time. Daughter: Carrie and no other information known at this time. Son: Boyd Frank Aldridge who married Wanda Lee Lovejoy in Lincoln County. Louise was the daughter of Allen and July (Julie)Nelson of Lincoln County. Louise waa married a second time to William Clark Collins. Hello. According to the Logan County marriage register for 1917, a William Moore officiated at the marriage of Frank Hutchison and Minnie Garrett. Does anyone know who this William Moore might be? I have been unable to locate him in the census. Thank you.

NETTIE ADAMS, 79, of Logan died Saturday in Logan Park Nursing Home. Incomplete arrangements by Honaker Funeral Home, Logan.

ALBERT RAY "BUDDY" LEGG, 49, of Milton, W.Va. passed away Oct. 11, at his residence. Funeral services will be conducted at 12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 14, at the Wallace Funeral Home, Milton, by the Rev. Steve Nida, the Rev. Kim Stone and the Rev. Lewis Combs. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens. He was born Dec. 21, 1952, in Huntington, a son of the late Albert and Myrtle Neal Legg. He was a retired nurse from HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital, a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Vietnam War, an Eagle Scout and was of the Baptist faith. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Helen A. Simmons. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Faulkner Legg; two stepdaughters and one son-in-law, Candy Ann Dilley of Greensboro, N.C. and Elizabeth Jean and Mike Hardiman of Barboursville; one sister and brother-in-law, Donna and Charles Meadows of Milton; one brother and sister-in-law, James and Donna Legg of Huntington; two grandchildren, Bryce Anthony Hardiman and Lauren Bayle Hardiman; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy and Jerry Amos of Winston Salem, N.C. and Peggy and Steve Nida of Barboursville; one brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Charles and Mary Faulkner of Sissonville; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Moss and Jean Ellis of Barboursville; and several nieces and nephews. HOMER BARTRAM, 77, of Huntington passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 12. Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Oct. 14, at 11 a.m. at the Wallace Funeral Home and Chapel by Pastor Buddy Smith. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery. He was born July 12, 1925, in Wayne County, a son of the late Richard and Vera Adkins Bartram. He was a retired brick layer. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Cremeans Bartram; four brothers, Albert, Desmon, Lee and Dallas Bartram; and one sister, Carrie Adkins. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Robbie Adkins of Huntington; several nieces and nephews; and his special buddies, Sassy, Babe and Gizmo. MR. CODY J. McCOMAS, 19, of Elm City, N.C., formerly of Huntington, passed away Friday, Oct. 4. He was born July 12, 1983. He is survived by his mother, Toni McComas of Huntington; a sister, Memory Chase Marie Mills of Huntington; two brothers, Justin Lee Boling of Elm City, N.C. and Jesse Dwayne McComas of Fayetteville, N.C.; an uncle, Michael A. McComas of Wilson, N.C.; grandmother, Barbara Mills of Huntington; great-grandfather, Eustace A. Mills of Huntington; and a very special family, Joseph Michael, Donna Barnes and Jeremy Barnes, all of Elm City, N.C., Melissa Sharpe of Wake Forest, N.C. and Travis M. Barnes of Pensacola, Fla. Cody was laid to rest in Maplewood Cemetery, Wilson, N.C., with the Rev. Mike Ramsey officiating. Chapman�s Mortuary, Huntington, was in charge of local arrangements.

JOHN SEATON TAYLOR, was born May 11, 1951, in Washington, D.C., son of the late Mary Rice Seaton Taylor and John Wallace Taylor, and died Friday, Oct. 11, 2002. He was a graduate of Davidson College, graduating in 1973, a member of Pi Kappa Alpha, and the Davidson basketball team. After graduating from WVU Law School in 1976, he joined the law firm of John Hankins, which later became Hankins and Taylor. In 2000, Seaton became a member of the firm of Campbell, Woods, Bagley, Emerson, McNeer and Herndon. For the past 17 years, he served as the Municipal Judge for the City of Huntington.

Seaton Taylor was a trustee, elder and Clerk of the Session of First Presbyterian Church and taught the Genesis Sunday School Class faithfully for many years. He served as president of the State Autism Society and served on the boards of the Prichard Foundation, the Westminister Foundation and was Trustee of the Foundation of the Tri-State Community, Inc.. He was a founding member of the Cabell-Huntington Coalition for the Homeless and a member of the Gypsy Club, City Club, the Cabell County Bar Association, the West Virginia Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the Barboursville Rotary Club and Guyan Golf and Country Club.

He is survived by his wife, Moira McMullen Taylor; a son, John Seaton Taylor, and a daughter, Mary Frances "Mollie" Taylor; two brothers, Thomas Wallace Taylor of Richmond, Va., and Samuel Kennon Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; his aunts, Nancy and Elinore Taylor of Huntington; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held noon, Monday, Oct. 14, at the First Presbyterian Church by Dr. Roger Rabey. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Klingel-Carpenter Mortuary.

BILLY JOE WALLACE, 70, of Milton passed away Friday, Oct. 11, at his residence. By his own request, no services will be observed. He was born July 24, 1932, a son of the late Dewey and Frances Lykins Wallace. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lola Holley and one brother, Peter C. Wallace. Mr. Wallace served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was a long-time member of the American Legion Post 139. He was also a member of several local organizations as well as the founder of the Village Inn and Wallace Excavating and Pool Service, Milton. MARK A. WRIGHT, 36, of Chesapeake, Ohio, died Thursday, Oct. 10, in Winfield, W.Va. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13, at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home with Pastor Terrell Bradley officiating. Mark was born Sept. 26, 1966, in Huntington, W.Va., a son of Mack Wright of Chesapeake, Ohio, and Carol Byrd Steele of Dayton, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Cecil and Opal Wright, and maternal grandfather, Othur Byrd. Mark was a production laborer for Toyota, he was of the Methodist faith and enjoyed working on old cars. Mark was a loving and caring father to his sons, they were the biggest joy in his life. In addition to his parents, Mark is survived by his wife Tammie Morrison Wright; two sons, Michael and Matthew "Bubby" Wright, both at home; one sister, Marci Stark and husband Earl of Dayton, Ohio; one brother, Josh Steele of Dayton, Ohio; his maternal grandmother, Queen Byrd of South Point, Ohio; one niece, Carly; mother and father-in-law, Shirley and Jack Morrison of Ashland, Ky.; and the mother of his children, Michelle Wright. Lawrence Hamilton Light’s family photo album has come into the possession of L. Light. However none of the people in the album are his family and he would like to see the album returned to the proper Light family.

Lawrence H. Light , born 30 May 1914 and died 29 June 1970 , is buried in the National (Mililtary) Cemetery in Madison TN, on the outskirts of Nashville TN. He was in the U.S. Air Force and served in World War 2, Korea, Vietnam and was also stationed in Alaska, Japan, England, Arizona etc
