From "Now and Long Ago" by Glenn D. Lough 1969-I am looking for any information related to Mary Rose Kaneade referred to in this book. Born in Hampshire County in 1756, died and was buried near New Geneva, PA in 1841. She never married and her mother(a Springer) was a first cousin to Nathaniel Springer from Marion County. Her Father was George Kaneade. When Mary Rose was an infant, Indians carried her Mother and the four children off to Ohio. They were rescued by a Frenchman, Paul Lash(Leash) Her "lover" was Danny Yeager who with Capt. William Russell's son Henry and Daniel Boone's son James Boone were murdered by Indians on their way to Kentucky
