My gg grandfather Peter Saurborn was killed in 1861 at the mouth of Sinking Springs near the West Fork. Not sure if its in Calhoun County or Wirt County,WV If anyone knows of this location would appreciate the info. Dianne Welch

Is it down around Arnoldsburg. Seems like a long way to Big Bend to take a body {peter Saurborn]. I had read that he was buried on the property at there home. doesn't seem likely to me. Thanks a lot. dianne

I know that Stemple Cemetery is located on Sinking Springs Road. According to the book Cemeteries in Calhoun County it is "located 1/2 mile off Rt. 16 on top of Sickles' Hill, Sinkings Springs Road, left side of Road, County Route 18/3." I know I found it a couple times as my great-grandfather is buried in Stemple Cemetery and owned propety down on Sinking Springs Road. I hope this helps.

sounds logical that he would be buried there. He was killed in 1860. I assume that cemetery was there since your great grand father is there. thanks so much for the info. dianne
