Yes, that is her. Her fathers name was John Holvenstot. Do you have any more details or an obituary? Thank you.

Hello,
I tried finding Lucy in the Yakima paper. But I couldn't find anything. That doesn't mean that her obituary isn't in there. Back in those days, the papers were not very well organized.
However, There is a free site called the Family Search Record - http://search.labs.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#...

When I got on there - I found the following:

William Burlingame and Lucy Jane Holvenstat had two children:
Jennie Belle Kimble - died Mar 2, 1932 at Medical Lake, Spokane, WA -- born in 1874.

Charles W. Burlingame died Nov 19, 1958 in Yakima, WA. Was born in 1869.

I don't know if George also goes by William

I'm not finding Lucy Burlingame's husband as George. It says William. I have her obit. here with me but my scanner is being a pain and not working right now. I have some index cards that I copied from the library and one reads: Lucy J. wife of William Burlingame
died Aug 28, 1899
Dodge Center Minn.

Now this was contributed by a Clarence Burlingame and the person's writing is not clear on the "Dodge Center Minn." So that's what it looks like it says to me. Also, I'm not sure if that death date is for Lucy or William since the wording sounds like it's meant for Lucy, but I'm pretty sure it's William's death date.

Her obit. doesn't state her husband's name, it only states that she leaves to survive her four children, Uriah S. and Charles W. Burlingame, Mrs. Edgar S. Hammond, and Mrs. James B. Kimble, all of Yakima.

A different index card that I have on her states she was born July 7, 1835 and died May 6, 1921, and that her father was John 'Halverstat', who was born in N.Y.

I have index cards on her two daughters:

Eunice A., married Edgar S. Hammond. Eunice died July 30, 1931 age 74, and was born Sept. 1856 in Wisconsin. It says that her father, William Burlingame was born in N.Y. and her mother 'Lucie Jane Holvenstock' (alternate spelling??) was born in Wisconsin. Her husband, Edgar, died April 19, 1941 age 81. They are both buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.

Jennie Belle married Eugene E. (different that what the obituary states...???). Jennie Belle died March 2, 1932, age 58 (it gives a different death date on here as February 3, 1932...maybe they messed up and meant for it to be March 3 as the burial date). She was born November 16, 1874 in Wisconsin. Her father, William Burlingame, was born in N.Y. and her mother Lucy Jane 'Halvenstitt' (another alternate spelling?) was born in N.Y. Her husband, Eugene died Aug. 11, 1948 age 76.

It also mentions a Gerald Leroy Kimble that was born Aug. 19, 1894 and died Dec. 21, 1909, but does not say how they are related. Maybe this was their son? They were all buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.

I will call Tahoma Cemetery, and see if I can't pull up some more information. When I get my annoying scanner to start working again I will post copies of the index cards and the obituary. I will type her full obit. for you now though:

Yakima Daily Republic Friday, May 6 1921

Mrs. Lucy Burlingame

Mrs. Lucy Burlingame, age 85, died this morning at her home on Twenty-fifth avenue and Tieton Drive. Mrs. Burlingame has made her home in this city for 13 years. She leaves to survive her four children, Uriah S. and Charles W. Burlingame, Mrs. Edgar S. Hammond, and Mrs. James B. Kimble, all of Yakima. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 o'clock from the Baptist Mission church. Interment will be in the Tahoma Cemetery.

If you want to give me more information on George Burlingame that would be helpful.

You are correct it was William Burlingame who was married to Lucy Jane Holvenstot. I was confused when I said his name was George. William Burlingame did indeed die 28 Aug 1899 in MN.

Your index card is very helpful, I did not know Lucy's date of birth before this. Also its helpful that it shows her fathers name as John "Halverstat" because I suspect Holvenstot is a variation of this name.

Thanks for the info about Lucy's children and for the obit. It's a great help and fills in some blanks for me.
