I'm not finding Lucy Burlingame's husband as George. It says William. I have her obit. here with me but my scanner is being a pain and not working right now. I have some index cards that I copied from the library and one reads: Lucy J. wife of William
Burlingame died Aug 28, 1899
Dodge Center Minn.
Now this was contributed by a Clarence
Burlingame and the person's writing is not clear on the "
Dodge Center Minn." So that's what it looks like it says to me. Also, I'm not sure if that death date is for Lucy or William since the wording sounds like it's meant for Lucy, but I'm pretty sure it's William's death date.
Her obit. doesn't state her husband's name, it only states that she leaves to survive her four children, Uriah S. and Charles W. Burlingame, Mrs. Edgar S. Hammond, and Mrs. James B. Kimble, all of Yakima.
A different index card that I have on her states she was born July 7, 1835 and died May 6, 1921, and that her father was John 'Halverstat', who was born in N.Y.
I have index cards on her two daughters:
Eunice A., married Edgar S. Hammond. Eunice died July 30, 1931 age 74, and was born Sept. 1856 in
Wisconsin. It says that her father, William
Burlingame was born in N.Y. and her mother 'Lucie Jane Holvenstock' (alternate spelling??) was born in
Wisconsin. Her husband, Edgar, died April 19, 1941 age 81. They are both buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.
Jennie
Belle married Eugene E. (different that what the obituary states...???). Jennie
Belle died March 2, 1932, age 58 (it gives a different death date on here as February 3, 1932...maybe they messed up and meant for it to be March 3 as the burial date). She was born November 16, 1874 in
Wisconsin. Her father, William
Burlingame, was born in N.Y. and her mother Lucy Jane 'Halvenstitt' (another alternate spelling?) was born in N.Y. Her husband, Eugene died Aug. 11, 1948 age 76.
It also mentions a Gerald Leroy
Kimble that was born Aug. 19, 1894 and died Dec. 21, 1909, but does not say how they are related. Maybe this was their son? They were all buried in the Tahoma Cemetery.
I will call Tahoma Cemetery, and see if I can't pull up some more information. When I get my annoying scanner to start working again I will post copies of the index cards and the obituary. I will type her full obit. for you now though:
