I am looking for descendents of Amelia Brinkman, born 1 June 1866 Johnson Co. Tecumseh, Nebraska. Parents, Robert and Nancy Price. Anyone knowing anything about her, please contact me. I have searched, and searched, with no luck. She was my great aunt, had a sister named Rose McDougal. I'll be greatful for any information.
Thanks, Jeri

Hi Jeri,
I found an Amelia Brinkman, Age-15, Born-Abt. 1870, Birth Place-Nebraska, Census Date=2 June 1885, Census Location-Fontanell Township, Washington Co., NE. Source: Nebraska State Census 1885, www.ancestry.com. There isn't enough info her to be sure she's your Amelia.

In 1930 an Amelia Brinkman was living with the Marsh family.
George Marsh, b. CA, 40 yrs old, marr @ 35, stationary engineer lumber co.
Bessie, wife, b. WA, 35, marr @ 16 [probably first marriage].
Earnest Schwartz, stepson, b. WA, 17.
Amelia Brinkman, motherlaw, b. NE, 62, widow.

A Bessie M. Marsh d. 22 Nov 1965, Seattle; Residence-Seattle per death cert #023437. Source: WA Death INdex 1940-96, www.ancestry.com.

A Bessie P. Marsh, Residence=Yakima City, d. 24 Sept 1970, Yakima City per death cert #022128. Source: WA Death Index 1940-96, www.ancestry.com.

There isn't enough info with the above Bessie's to know which one (if any) are your Bessie.

You'll be able to tell from their obituaries. There is a volunteer, Carla, at Random Acts Genealogical Kindness, www.raogk.org, read instructions, choose Washington, choose Yakima Co.

You can also request them from the Washington State Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx . They will search their newspaper microfilm for 60 minutes at no charge. They will reply with what they did or didn't find.

After you receive the obituary, I use www.whitepages.com to look up the survivors. Successful Searching!

I find a private family tree identifying "Permelia (Amelia) Price", born 1866 in Nebraska. Family tree for the McDougals. In trying to contact the "owner" I find your name. (Why do people keep their trees private? It makes finding information so very difficult)

I find another of your postings from Nebraska:
http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.neb...
This posting identifies Robert Price and Nancy Thompson went to Tecumseh, Johnson Co, in 1856. Robert and Stephen, a son, died shortly thereafter. If Robert died shortly after 1856, he could not have been the father of this Amelia. You list several children. You identify a son "Hansford Price married Permelia ? then married Mary Harrison".
---Note: the 1850 Census for Lawrence Co, Kentucky, has Hanford Price, age 24, married to Pemelia, age 23.
---Note: The 1870 Census for Richardson Co, Nebraska, has Hansford Price, age 48, Mary age 23, daugher Amelia was 3, (This Amelia would have been born about 1866/1867)

In another posting, you identify Rose M. Price was your grandmother, born 1873, and was a daughter of Hansford Price. Rose married an Earnest C. McDougal.

Your information in your other postings are conflicting with this one on Permelia.

It appears this family was:
Robert and Nancy Price:
-Hansford Price and Permelia (Amelia) was this "Brinkman"?
--Rose McDougal.

You also posted this search in the Yakima County board for Washington State. Is there a reason you are looking in this area for this family?
