BAKER, a pioneer, died last night in Lewiston,
Idaho, where he went last week to attend the interstate fair. He has been ill for months, but was much better when he left home. His wife and children were with him. The remains were brought to
Colfax today and will be interred by the
Knights of Phythias, of which order he was a member, tomorrow.
Mr. Baker was born in
Kentucky 71 years ago. He came west in 1870 and settled at Waltsburg. In 1875 he came to
Colfax and took a homestead adjoining town. He left a widow, one son and one daughter, both grown and residing in
Colfax.
