Seeking information on my wife's uncle. Have a picture showing William Silvers (Dick) Morris, west of bishop in 1920. He worked in a logging camp ca. 1920's, caught pneumonia and died. He was married and had 1 son. Wife's name and son's name unknown. He was born in Missouri in 1890 to William Reynolds Morris and Vernisha Aldora (Edwards) Morris. Would like to know when he died, where he is buried, name of wife and son. Would like to know if son kept surname of Morris and if he is still alive and where living. Any information on Silvers, wife, and/or son, would be most appreciated. Thank you for any help! Dennis

Hi Dennis,
I found Silvers W. Morris in 1900 in Polk, DeKalb Co., MO with his family but I think you have this info so I won't repeat it.

In 1910 the family was living in St. Joseph Ward 4, Buchanan co., MO with the Bradshaw family.
Silvers Morris, boarder, b. MO, 1889, single, house painter.

On June 5, 1917 William Silvers Morris was living in H______, Los Angeles Co., CA. He was b. 29 April 1889, Union Star, MO. He was a farmer, self-employed and was married. Source: World War I Draft Registration 1917-18, www.ancestry.com.

I kept thinking about Bishop, WA, a town I've never heard of. I checked RootsWeb's city to county converter but they didn't have a Bishop, WA. Then I checked Bishop, CA - voila-
it's located in CA.

In 1920 William and his family were living in Warm Springs, Inyo Co., CA.
William S. Morris, b. MO, 29 yrs old, painter.
Mabel, wife, b. OR, 33.
Richard, son b. CA, 2.

AND he didn't die in the 1920's. I found William and family in Bishop, Inyo Co., CA.
William S., b. MO, 40, marr @ 25, foreman paint _____.
Mabel, b. OR, 42, marr @ 27.
Richard, b. CA, 12.

Now it's time to direct your search to California. I didn't find anyone's death info. Once you know the date they died, get obituaries which will tell you a lot! Successful Searching!
