More on James Ross, and Mary McArthur his wife

What happened to William Ross and his wife Julie C Simpson, had a son named John Ross; James Alexander and his wife Leota Cannon and their children; Mary Strait Ross and her sister Edna C Ross. My reason for trying to find this family is that Mary McArthur's grandmother was Ann Currie sister to Dugall Currie my great grandfather. I am updating the Currie family tree, and would like to have all of them in it. My e-mail is janetgc@sasktel.net

When my father died the staff at Mt. View Cemetery in Walla Walla discovered that his intended grave was occupied by an unmarked grave, occupied by F. G. Chandler (b.1850, d.1930)or his wife Mary Chandler (b.1860. d.1922). We moved my father's grave but I would like to learn about the Chandlers. All I know is that he worked at the Marcus Whitman garage in Walla Walla at one time.

obit please--Deborah Lynn Brown died Oct 16, 1970 also Waitsburg HS yearbook 68/69 pix

according to a obit for Carol Shively (which i have) in The Walla Walla Bulletin, Deborah Lynn Brown died Oct 16, 1970 on Hwy 124, eight miles east of Burbank, WA. Deborah may have also been a resident of Waitsburg as was Carol. It's possible that both 18 yr old girls were traveling together and may have been killed in a traffic accident.

Would also greatly appreciate a scan of any pix of either student in the '68/'69 yearbook. Carol was a member of the HS National Honor Society.

Both girls may be related to each other as well as to me. I don't know where Deborah lived.

Thanks sincerely for your assistance

Dan Brown

email
dadbrown_99@yahoo.com

I'm looking for descendants of William (1888-1958) and Modjeska (1886-1955)Mechlin Evenson. Mojeska was born in Ohio; William probably in the upper Mid West (Dakotas, Wisconsin, Minnesota).
They had two daughters, Carol (b. 1910) and Ruth (b.1916). William and Modjeska are buried in Mount Hope Cemetery. I have information on the Mechlin family which I'll gladly share, on her father's (Francis Mechlin) side, but her mother died when she was only a year old, so I don't have much on her, Mary Carter. I have nothing on William Evenson's parents, but I would like to know about them as well. I also have photos of both William and Modjeska which I would be happy to share.

I am seeking information about the descendants of Cyrus Warren who migrated to Southeast Washington in the 1870’s.

Cyrus married Emeline/Amelia/Emily Hartung, a native of Germany in 1845.

He had a daughter, Julia Abigail, born c.1846 in Ohio. All his other children were born in Lawrence County, Missouri.

In the 1870’s his sons Jason and John Cyrus migrated to Asotin County, Washington. Daughters Ida Jane, Amanda Lois, and Elvira apparently came with them. The mother, Amelia, followed but Cyrus stayed in Missouri and is buried there.

Jason stayed in Asotin County for some time and then moved to Gridley, California.

John Cyrus is buried in Dixie, Walla Walla County, Washington.

Amelia is buried in Peola, Garfield County, Washington

Ida Jane is buried in Idaho.

Amanda is buried in Clarkston, Asotin County, Washington.

Elvira is buried in Spokane, Washington

Emma is buried in Kalispell, Montana.

Any information regarding this Warren line would be greatly appreciated.
Am searching for any families of these names. They were listed as survivors of Nancy L. Stemper in her obit of Sep, 1945. If anyone knows them or knows her maiden name, I would like to hear from you. My dad was told over fifty years ago that she was his aunt. I would like to verify it. Thank you, Marilyn Skaggs Holman

Hi everyone,
I need some general information about the area and or newspapers in the area during the 1860's. What I am looking for is a newspaper lookup of a murder of Israel D. Davis about the 1st of January 1862 which takes place on the Turochet River. The accused is a Alonzo Beebe who is jailed in the city of Walla Walla and then escapes sometime in late March or April. Also a lookup of a child abduction of a Laura Beebe abducted in May of 1862 daughter of said Alonzo to a Mary Cantrall (unwed) by a Philo Beebe father of said Alonzo. Any ideas as to where I could obtain information concerning these events?

I am looking for the family of Michael Cosgrove and wife Catherine who resided in Walla Walla, Washington in the 1870 census. Their daughters, Rosa - aged 4, Mary - aged 3, and Lizzie - aged 1, were all born in Washington Territory, probably in Walla Walla. They may have resided in Walla Walla as late as 1874. By 1880, they are in Portland, Oregon. There is also a daughter named Teresa, born about 1873.

This family was Catholic, the parents being from Ireland. Are there any Catholic Church records (baptisms) between about 1866 and 1875? I am looking for birth or baptismal records for these children.

Thank you,

Laraine Clark

I would like help with this family. Where did George's siblings go. I did not find them in Walla Walla. I did find another Mary E. Smails age 27 living in another household. I don't think she is George's sister. Could she be a sister-in-law? She was a seamstress. I would like to have contact with others researching this line.

I am researching the surnames BENZEL and GRADWOHL lines. They migrated from Russia in 1899 to Walla Walla, Walla Walla County, Washington. I am particularly interested in placing these families in Russia before their immigration to the United States. I know that these families immigrated to Walla Walla County sometime in the first four months of 1899. Gradwohl's are listed on the 1900 census. I have not found the Benzel's on that census. However, they were in Walla Walla County. Thank you.
The Laws had been in Japan, their youngest was born there in June 1890.
If anyone had any more info on Oishi in Walla Walla I would be delighted to hear it. He's definitely in Portland by September 1893. I wonder when he left Walla Walla.
Dr. Law is dead by the time of the US census of 1900.
Hello everyone... I am hoping someone can help me out... I am looking for information on Joseph Dunnegan/Dunnigan/Dunegan...

He was born around 1855 in Greene County, Illinois. I can not find him in any censuses except 1880 and 1920. In the 1880 census, he is living in Greene County and his mother is living with him (Cordelia Fields). In the 1920 census he is living in Walla Walla County. His nephew, Jesse Halbert, is living with him. In the 1930 census, Jesse is living as a boarder, still in Walla Walla. Joseph again is no where to be found.... Jesse died on 30 Nov 1941 according to the Washington Death Index on Ancestry.com

In the 1920 census, Joseph is widowed but I don't know who is wife was/is...

I am at a major brickwall with this family... Any help anyone can give me on him... Mainly looking for a death date, burial place, an obit... something to give me some information...

Thanks in advance for any help!

Juls

Bumgardner/Baumgardner/Bumgarner, Harper

Looking for information on Harper Bumgardner (other possible spellings). I believe he was born in Missouri, son of Sigel and Sarah Bumgardner. Someone has found him on the 1905 Walla Walla census, but I am unable to find that census. I don't know if he died in Walla Walla, or moved on to other places. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated. I believe he was born around 1890. Don't have any definite proof of this. Thank you for any and all help.

I am looking for assistance in finding information on my great uncle and aunt. They were both raised in Ashley, North Dakota, and I believe they lived in Walla Walla. Anna M. (Hoffman) Forrest died approx. 1970. Her husband Howard A. Forrest may have lived quite some time beyond that. Once she passed away, all information ceased. Also, does anyone do obit. look-ups that may assist me in this? I would greatly appreciate any help that could be offered.

B. Weber
Minnesota
