I have been doing extensive research on the Skamokawa Residents from it's begining, i would like to touch base with Kari on how to forward this information as i gather it. I have been compiling obits from the Skamokawa Eagle, Cathlamet Gazette, Columbia River Sun and Grays River Builder. Please contact me at 1sully2@q.com thanks sue

My uncle Torrence Dean Howard, lived in Skamokawa for many years, in a little house on or near the Fairgrounds. There was a bar nearby. Anyway he passed 29 Apr 1996 in Kelso and I realized I dont have his obituary.

I also dont have obituaries for my grandparents, Earl and Aurora Howard, who died 22 Sep 1982 and 3 May 1942, and are also buried in Cathlamet. They lived on Little Island for many years.

Im wondering if this information is available. When I went to visit my Dad years ago the paper had been microfilmed but there were no readers. Are interlibrary loans available for films?

Thanks a lot.

GenWeb has Torrence Dean Howard, the other two I can look up for you at the library and make copies.
The little bar is the Oasis Tavern, if it was the little house that stood on the hill it is now gone, that area has been taking a beating with the floods.
The WAhkiakum County Museum has a lot of obits on file, I am not sure if Kari does look ups or not. she is highlighted in blue still when you go to the genweb site.
