Margaret E. (O’Ban) Vanier

Margaret E. ‘O'Ban’’ Vanier died Thursday at a nursing home. Mrs. Vanier was born in Winlock April 24, 1902. She attended school in Winlock. Surviving are her husband, Henry J. Vanier, Olympia a daughter, Mrs. William (Janie) Ridley Olympia, and two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements will be announced by Forest Funeral Home.

Margaret E. (O'Ban) Vanier

The funeral service for Margaret E. (O'Ban) Vanier will be held at graveside in the Olympic Memorial Gardens next Monday morning starting at ten o'clock. The Reverend Henry S. Rahn, Olympia Baptist Church, will officiate. The family suggests that memorials could be made to the Thurston County Home Health Services or American Cancer Society or Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle.

Mrs. Vanier died last Thursday in a local nursing home. She was born in Winlock, on April 24, 1902 and attended school there. She married Robert S. O'Ban on July 22, 1922 in Olympia. They lived in Tacoma, and Seattle for a short time and returned to Olympia in 1925. Mr. O'Ban died in Olympia on March 8, 1966. Mrs. Vanier married Henry J. Vanier on July 12, 1973. She has been a resident of Thurston County for 56 years. She retired from the State of Washington in 1967 as a switch board operator at the Capitol. Surviving are her husband, Henry J. Vanier, of the family home; a daughter, Mrs. William (Janie) Ridley, Olympia; two grandchildren; three brothers, Walter Toy, Winlock, Charles Toy, in Northern Calif., and Thomas Toy, Randle; one step-son Harry Vanier, Olympia; three step-daughters, Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Hadley, Mrs. Dick (Cathy) Gunenfelder, and Mrs. Mary Hopp, all of Olympia. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Forest Funeral Home.
