The Social Security Death Index:
Alva
Rieckers, born 26 January 1917, died Dec 1987. His "last benefit" was sent to Quartzsite, LaPaz County,
Arizona.
---The Social Security Death Index lists persons that have died whose deaths were reported to the Social Security Administration.
The "last residence" is not necessarily where a person lived. It could be the address where the Death Benefit was sent, today about $255.00, to a spouse or other person that paid for burial, funeral home/Attorney/etc. It also could be just from a notification of their death. It is not necessarily where they lived, it "usually is; but it is NOT a exact address identifier. A death certificate may have been sent to the Social Security Administration identifying the person died.
The "last benefit" is sometimes the location where the Death Benefit was sent, not a Social Security payment, or again, where the person lived.

A Family Tree posted by an Alfred S. Nesser shows

Rieckers. The other
Alva Rieckers, born 1893, died 1954 in Northport, was the son or Richard. So, Alfred dying in 1987 was a nephew of the older

Alva was married to Elsie and had daughters Arlene 1921, and Violet 1923.
I sent a message to Alfred
Nesser to read this thread.

Now, for his obit. It "probably" was in the
Colville newspaper, the Statesman Examiner. Since the exact date of death wasn't found, a search would have to be made in all December 1987 editions. Since the paper is a weekly, that would not take much time. To search for this obit, try:

Washington State Library has a free research service, the ask-a-librarian program, where they will look for information in the archives, in this case the newspaper microfilm for an event, such as an obituary. They will look up to an hour and send you the results. Contact them at:
