I am not related to this family however Lawrence Fullner is somewhat connected to some research I am doing on the Sherman Creek area of Ferry County (which is across the Columbia River / Lake Roosevelt from Kettle Falls). Lawrence's in-laws, the Studebakers, lived in this area and Bessie Studebaker Fullner died 5 Nov 1917 and is buried in the Garden Valley Cemetery here. That day she gave birth to twins....the girl was stillborn but the boy, Oliver, supposedly survived. The Studebakers left Ferry County shortly after that event and apparently moved to Illinois. They did not sell their land until 1938 however.
According to a news item from 1913, the Fullners lived on the Stevens County side at Rickey Canyon which is south of Kettle Falls (directly across from the Studebakers). I do not find any further reference to Lawrence here until his probate is settled in 1947 (Stevens County). That implies that he lived quite a while after Bessie's death, but not necessarily. I have not done any other research on the Fullners.
I am a researcher for the Northeast Washington Genealogical Society and so much of my information has come through the various indexes we have created for local records. However, I also found a book called "The Studebaker Family in America 1736- 1976" by Walter Carlock, Alvin Faust, E. Irene Miller., published by the Studebaker Family National Association, 1976, which also included some information on Lawrence.
If you would like further details on what I found on this family locally, please email me directly at sdechant@newgs.org and be sure to put "Stevens Co" in the subject line.....Susan
