1st Lt. William Lee Bell was a P47 fighter pilot who was shot down 16 Nov 1944 near the French/Luxemborgh border while on mission. He ejected, but his chute failed to open.

I am helping to locate descendants of his siblings, in order to return personal effects that have been in the possession of a fellow pilot of his since Lt Bell was KIA. The fellow pilot died in 2004, and his former wife has asked if relatives could be located.

Lt. Bell was born 7 Dec 1921 in Fresno, CA. He enlisted in the Army 31 Jul 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. His parents were Elmer L and Florence E Bell. He had a brother, listed below:

George F. Bell, born 26 Jul 1920, California, died 23 Feb 1989, last know residence Spokane, Washington, USA, per SSDI.
