When you post an inquiry, it is VERY important to include the date of birth, date of death, etc., to help a researcher find the CORRECT person. In this case, the obit was easy to find; but most names are harder as they have many similar names.

The Social Security Death Index shows Wilma R. Jenkins, born 7 August 1934, died 16 Feb 2007. Her "last residence" was in Bellingham, Whatcom County.

Wilma Rose Jenkins, of Rockport, Washington, passed away at the family home in Rockport on Friday, February 16, 2007. She was 72 years old. Arrangements are pending. Moles Family Funeral Home & Cremation-Main Street, Ferndale

Wilma Rose Jenkins
August 7, 1934 Tulalip, Washington February 16, 2007 Rockport, Washington Wilma passed on in the family home in Rockport, Washington. Wilma was born to Marion Edwards George; she was raised by her grandparents (Emma Tom, and Leo Edwards) whom she knew as mom and dad. Enrolled in Samish Tribe but later enrolled Lummi Nation. Thru out the 40 years married to Sydney ?Chuck? Jenkins, she learned to hunt with Chuck and their hound dogs. One of her first prize shots was a huge cougar from tip of his nose to the tip of his tail he was over seven feet long and over three feet high. Wilma earned a certificate in cosmetology but left the career to pursue traveling as the cook for the many packing trips with mules and horses up and down the mountains. She enjoyed knitting making her own sweaters while Chuck made deer antler buttons for her. She also enjoyed making baskets. She had a passion for playing music, by strumming ole time bluegrass music on her guitar with Chuck playing his banjo. Wilma and Chuck grew their own vegetables where she became a professional making dill pickles, sweet pickles, Tar Heel beans. Wilma?s homemade pumpkin pies were the most delicious pies around. Preceded in death by: Marion Edwards George (Mother), Ernest Olsen (Father, Vancouver Island), Emma Tom (Grandmother), Leo Edwards (Grandfather), LaVerne Edwards Hall (sister), Stella Edwards Long (Sister), Reginald Edwards (Brother), Richard Edwards (Brother). She is survived by Chuck Jenkins, brother and sister of Lummi, a brother and sister of Sequim, Washington, Sisters and brothers from Vancouver Island, British Columbia to the Interior of British Columbia. She leaves many friends of the Rockport and Concrete area. Evening Services will be Tuesday, February 20, 2007 at 7 PM at the Wexliem Community Center. Morning Services at Wexliem are set for Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 10:00 AM, including a visitation, followed by burial at Lummi Nation Cemetery.
