You probably didn't get any answers to your posting, as you didn't provide any specific information on who this person was, a date of birth, date of death, place of birth, place of death, parents, siblings, etc. We don't know if this person was born in 1940 or 1880. Most "blind" queries do not get answered.
Second, this person was probably "Olaf", son of August Kulin, born circa 1863/1864 in Sweden, immigrated 1882; and, Lena, born circa 1872/1873 in Sweden, immigrated in 1881.
I don't know if you have US Census information already. I posted some information on Patronymics to your other post. The 1880 census for Sherman, Clay County, Kansas has an August Kulin, age 3, son of Andrew and Johanna Kulin, both from Sweden. Andrew "could" be a brother, and that was the reason for your August traveling to and living in Kansas. This is ONLY speculation on my part until you've researched to Sweden.
