But I don't know when they got married:
Marriage certificate #268/278 Martin l and Ellen Warren as the same appears of page 135 record of marriages volume number # 3 of the record of the said county.
Thanks
Hello Dillis,
I noticed this rather old post regarding Geo. Washington Bolton and Fanny Dove. They are my great-great-grandparents. Rather than go into all the details here, I'll wait to see if you are still looking. I am related on my maternal grandmother's side of the family.

I had posted the below earlier, but it failed to register.

I'd also be carefull of other research that just has the same last name found:

Some detailed family information is found in a family tree of Nissa Picard, nissa_san@hotmail.com (her information was of March 2000, so the email address might be old, but she could possibly be found). This "might" be your family tree; however, it doesn't appear to be so.
http://awtc.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=nissa...
Contact this person to see if they have more information than posted online.

The Washington Archives:
http://www.digitalarchives.wa.gov/default.aspx
Run the last name of Beliveaux, and you will see marriages w/images of Robert Lawrence. First marriage 1934 to a Lorraine E. DeBeaudeaux; second marriage 1939 to Doris Shettlesworth.
Run the last name of Bellevue, to find the marriage of Ernest Matthew Bellevue to Mae Erlwein in 1930 in Grays Harbor. A Lawerence J. Bellevue JR to a Carol Lee Logan in 1949; Ralph Ernest Bellevue to Edith Frances Mary in 1938, King County. Images are available for all.

www.zabasearch.com has both Ralph Bellevue and Edith Bellevue at 616 Lilly Road NE, Olympia, WA. That address is to a Merrill Gardens Windsor Manor, owner in McKinley, Texas. There is also a Ralph E. Bellevue shown born 1946 in Olympia, possibly a son, possibly not.

Washington Death Index:
Robert Montee, found born about 1924, "last benefit" Vancouver, Clark County, WA. Died 1977. "Last Benefit" is not necessarily where a person lived or died, sometimes where a final payment was made to a surviving spouse or child. In 1977, it also could have been sent to a person paying for the burial expenses.
--Marjorie R. Montee, died same day. Her date of birth about 1924.
Social Security Death Index: Robert born 26 April 1923, Marjorie 19 Nov 1923. A Timothy M. Montee, born 6 May 1954, died 1 Oct 2004, Last Benefit Vancouver, Clark Co, WA (NO PROOF this person is related).

Ron Bestrom

Hi Maggie,
I've looked through my Brown family paperwork. I have lots of Swedish records; not Alfrida's birth entry tho...I'm not sure if that year's record was available. I do have some of her siblings birth entries as well as her parents marriage and different 'household examination' records which are Sweden's equivelant of our census. I also have some correspondence with other cousins of bible entries etc. I can send you copies of whatever you would like. We have a Skog family cousin still in Sweden and he has that family's data very far back. Skog was Alfrida's grandfather's surname (Jacob (Bruhn) Brown's father). I would love to know the details of Frida and John McGill's family. You are my only family connection to them. I can get you in touch with other cousins from various lines...I have one from Nannie Hildegard Gray's line, one from Hilma Henrietta Woodard's line, some from my line (Anna Christina Thompson), and of course the Skog line in Sweden. Oh, and Jacob Bruhn Gustafson Skog (Jacob Brown) had a sister that immigrated to the US as well and I have contacts from her family. Please email me off-list your address and I will send copies of the items that I mentioned. If you can send me a gedcom file or report of your McGill family data (maybe just from John Patrick McGill's parents on forward). I would love any photos of Frida and John and/or their children if you have them as well. I do have one photo of Jacob Brown and his wife Hanna from the Kittson county history I will send. Also any supporting documentation that you can share would be helpful...birth, death, newspaper, etc. I will send you my address of list as well. ljschroeder@netzero.com.
Laura

Hi Maggie,
I am related to this line through Alfrida Augusta Brown's older sister, Anna Christina Brown who married Thomander Swan Thompson. They had 10 children and later divorced. My great-grandmother was their daughter Bertha Ingeborg Thompson Cameron...she also later married a Skoog so you might see her with that surname.
I'll take a look at what I have and may need...might have to be later this week...maybe Friday, 4/17 before I get to it. I also use FTM version 16.
Great to connect with you! Laura

The Washington State Library has a free research program where they will look for information in the archives, in this case the newspaper microfilm for an event, such as an obituary. They will look up to an hour and send you the results. Contact them at: http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx . Depending on the amount of requests, it could take up to a couple of weeks

I am searching for the family of a soldier who was killed in the Korea War. When he entered service he gave San JUan County, Washington as his home of record.

Soldier: MAURICE NOLAN MCCLELLAN
Born: 1931 Caucasian
Date of loss: December 1, 1950, POW

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 46 families in Washington that have not been located. There is one family from San Juan County that has not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find this family. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating this family.

Harold Davis
40th Infantry Division
Korea ’52-‘53
910-791-2333
hgdavis@bellsouth.net
Hi list,
Am researching WOOLLETT (various spellings), Bernard Casimir, wife Florence V WOOLLETT, nee JOHNSON and their sons, Bernard John and Charles Basil. Both the sons were born in Lopez Island in 1898, 1899. They are all in the 1900 US census there. Parents were married in New Whatcom in 1898. Bernard C died in Bellingham in 1900 a couple of months after the 1900 census. What I am looking for is any other information that may have been printed about them while they were there. Florence was a teacher from a family of teachers and Bernard is stated as a farmer. I think they may have met in Texas, then appeared in Lopez Island.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Hi Sandy,
No I am not related to the Beigins and am not sure which Beigin originally settled in the Ray Fleming house. Mom is dead and can't help. I do know that there were several Beigin brothers - maybe Patrick is the first one. There was also a Bill Beigin and I believe, but haven't looked at the info for a long time, but one of the Beigin brothers killed the other one. Don't know if it was a shotting accident or not, somewhere I have the story. If I find it I will pass it on.

I know from mom that one of the Beigin's house burned down in her lifetime - I'm guessing it was at the Ray Fleming place because grandma's house looked across the valley at that place.

Sorry I'm not of more help.

Linda Morgan

I am looking for Edward John Sampson, who married Sopia Rose Stevens from Lopez. Edward moved to Seattle in about 1917 with one of his daughters, Eleanor. His wife, Rose, lived at Pt Stanley. I found Edward's draft listing in 1918 in Seattle, Washington. He died in Wisconsin. His granddaughter lives in Wisconsin. If any of this sounds familiar, would you be interested in sharing?

I am still researching the Stevens family. I have run across someone who says there was a James C Stevens, b. 1824 d. 1907; he was the older brother of Emmons Floyd Stevens, Sophia's husband.

I also have not been able to find any info on Ellen Stevens, or Daisy Stevens [Henry's daughter]. I have pictures of Daisy and Gertrude with Lillian May Stevens. Could you share any information that I am missing?
Celeste Stevens

I was on Lopez last fall, stayed on for the afternoon. Didn't have time to find the cemetery, but maybe next time. Celeste Stevens

Thank You very much. I've written to the San Juan Islander already to ask where I could find any historic articles about her and whatever had happened to her. Seems so very young to pass. Since you have found the spelling in the State record for her father was indeed wrong, it would appear that his grave is there as well. Its ironic that her marker says "Gone but not forgotten" and from so long ago, very few if anyone would have any idea who she was, what kind of person she was and what happened to her.

Hey Joanne, I'm guessing my friend isn't going to get to the library any time soon. If you should be by there and happen to remember this, I would appreciate it for anything you might be able to find out for me. Of course, anything you photocopy or whatever, I'll arrange to send money to cover those expenses. Please feel free to email me at dgrant3830@aol.com. I don't expect you to go out of your way for this as its sort of my endeavor here that I started. If I could get back up there right now, I would already have done this. As it is, duty calls here for now.
:)
My friend Cindy, who works at Windermere there in town, will try to get to the library sometime in the next week or two. I should have done all this when I was there last weekend rather than waiting till I'm 1500 miles away. I simply got to thinking after I arrived home that this Clara shouldn't be forgotten therefore my interest to find out who she was. Hopefully I'll find a picture of her but not expecting too. Thanks again Joanne, you helped me a lot!

I was just there visiting friends and took a stroll through the cemetary and found a grave marker of interest. Same last name as mine. Marker name is "Clara A. Grant" Born Nov. 16, 1877 and passed Aug. 29, 1907. Per what little I can find, her father's name was Robt. Pfaenittner, although I'm wondering if its mispelled and really Pfaendtner? I can't find any records of anyone else in Friday Harbor with the last name of Grant, nor can I find the listed name of her father anywhere in the US at all. Is there a record center or old newspaper source from up there? She was only 29 when she passed which seems so short so I'm wondering what she was like and what happened to her so long ago.

I currently live on Bailer Hill Road and am interested in the history of the road/area. My husband and I bought the old Ray Flemming house, and I think this site may be where Patrick Beigin settled. So I am interested in Beigin, as well as other families who settled here. I don't have a lot to share, but will look back in my files to see what there is.

By the way, are you related to Shane and Vaghn Mason? If so, I understand that a relative (perhaps Vaghn's mother or sister) wrote a history of the family.
Linda:

My husband and I live in Ray's house. We have been told that Ray Flemming died here from a gunshot wound, but no one seems to agree how it happened: self-inflicted, hunting accident, or murder. So much intrigue.

When we bought the house four years ago, we had it raised up so we could put a foundation under it. We removed two chimeneys in the process. One had been walled up and showed evidence of near fire. However in the ground under the house there was lots of melted glass, evidence that the original house burned to the ground, and that this is the second farm house for the property. I believe this is the site of Patrick Beigin's homestead/farmhouse. I am told that his homestead extended from Douglas Road down to the road to False Bay. As we have been doing work on the house, we found a newspaper in the wall that showed the subscription to Patrick. We also found a walking stick in the wall...

sandy

Yes, my husband is related to Patrick Beigin. Sorry to be slow anwering. I got mixed up with who was asking! Nick's uncle Bill and aunt Bernice are still on the island. Their son is Vaghn Mason. Bill's sister Florence "Babe" Jewett was doing the family history....she said it was ready to publish...but she passed away in 2004 before I saw the results...I'm sure Bill or Bernice would know about that. I have traced Patrick Beigin through the census...and can send that to you if you'd like. my address is j.mason@verizon.net.
