I am looking for anyone who is a descendant of Gerhart Steffann and Amalie Kratochvil, or Amalie's children Frank, Albert or Evelyn who lived in Puyallup, Washington in the late 1920's and early 1930's. If anyone has information on where this family may have moved, etc., please contact me.

Hi JustLu,
I didn't find any info after the 1930 Census for Gerhart and Amalie. I checked FamilySearch and the Washington State Digital Archives.

Obituaries are a wonderful source of information. There is a volunteer at Random Acts Genealogical Kindness who looks them up in the Tacoma News Tribune. Go to www.raogk.org, read instructions, choose Washington, choose Pierce and look for Pat.

Also the Washington State Library, www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx will provide a copy of any obituary published in the state of Washington. They will look in the newspaper microfilm for 60 minutes at no charge and reply with what they do or don't find.

You could contact the Tacoma-Pierce County Genealogical Society, www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~watpcgs/ for information about Gerhart, Amalie and Evelyn. They charge a reasonable fee. Successful Searching!
