That's interesting! Would you recognize the daughter and wife if you saw them in a picture? They gave my mother a wedding gift so, were probably at the wedding but I don't know how we could match them too well if I didn't know what the person I was looking for looked like.
My father's mother's older brother was chief justice of the Idaho supreme court, William Lee (my great uncle), and in the 30's and 40's was ICC commissioner off-and-on, in Washington; that's no doubt how/why they knew the family. Check out the last paragraph, in italics:
