I am looking for the daughter of Ewing W Giles and Mary A (Mamie) Chamney who may have been residing in Tacoma about 1966. Ewing and Mary were living in Los Angeles Co with her parents, John and Grace Chamney, in 1930. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me at benflan@xtra.co.nz .

Your posting did not give any information at all on the daughter. It did not identify enough information to identify age, etc of the parents. When you post it is important to FULLY identify who you seek.

I don't believe the Ewing and Mary living in Los Angeles are the people you seek. They didn't have a daughter. Ewing T and Mamie in Tennessee had a daughter.

Ewing W. Giles, age 36, born in Kansas to father born in New York, mother in Kansas, A shoe salesman.
Mary A, age 38, born in Canada, immigration year unknown.
--In 1895, this person was shown living in Paola, Miami County, Kansas. He was 12, Parents were C.A. Giles 45 born in NY, mother Helen E, 38, born in Kansas.
--In 1910, this person was in Paola, with his father Charley A, born Jan 1850 and mother Nellie C, born Aug 1857. Ewing W, born Feb 1883, sister Margreth (as written), V. born July 1885 and Lettie, born Feb 1887.
--The 1930 Census 17 3306 Maders Street, shows Ewing W Giles, age 47, born in Kansas, married to Mary A, age 49, bon in Canada. John 72 and Grace 78, both born in Canada were residing with them.
So, in actuality, John and Grace were living with Ewing and Mary, not the other way around

--The World War I Draft Registration Card Image database shows Ewing Thomas Giles, born Nov 24, 1881, living at 157 Farin?? Street, Nashville, Davidson Co, TN. He was a collector at Lee Books? F? Co, at 94 Lafayette St, Nashville. His nearest relative was Mamie Ester Lee Giles.
--The 1920 Census for Nashville, Davidson County has Ewing T, age 38, Mamie, age 33 and daughter Pearlie, age 2 2/12. Also living in the home is James Sledge, brother-in-law, age 20. So Mamie was a Sledge. Ewing had his own grocery store. The census was enumerated on January 5, 1920, so Pearlie was born about October 1917.
--The 1930 Census for Nashville has Ewing 48,(Transcribed as Erving), owns the grocery; and Mamie 44 living at 101 Lewis. Pearlie L, age 12 and James H, Sledge, 30, salesman in a grocery.

...So, it does not appear that Ewing W and Mary A, the first couple never had a daughter.
... You may be looking for Ewing T and Mamie, they are a different couple.

Now, are you looking for a daughter "Pearl/Pearlie"?

I want to thank you for your lengthy submission on Mary Ann (Mamie) Chamney who married Ewing Giles. The confusion may be that Mary Ann's parents may have adopted, whether unofficially or officially, a daughter named Maud Ross who was living with the Chamneys in Arizona. I am firmly convinced now that the descendants who lived in Tacoma, Washington, were from Maud and her, as yet unknown, husband. Mary Ann and Ewing of Los Angeles were definitely my people. Mary Ann's only child died in Arizona.

This would explain my lack of information, as you pointed out to me, however, the few details that I supplied may have rung a bell with someone and it was with that thought in mind that I made my submission.
