BLANCHE BOWER
NEWPORT--Funeral services for Blanche C. Bower, 74, a 34 year Newport resident who died May 29 in a Spokane hospital will be conducted by the Rev. Robert Rayburn at 11 a. m. this Friday in the Sherman Chapel. Burial will be in the Newport Cemetery.
Mrs. Bower was born Nov. 2, 1908 in Wenatchee. She was a summer cook at Camp Cowles on Diamond Lake for 14 years. She leaves her husband Marion at the home on Rte. 3; daughters Elnora Winfrey, Edith Hendrix, and Shirley Guerrero, all of Spokane; Ruth Ventling of Greenacres; Maxine Marizall of St. Maries and Luella Hern of Portland; sons Max of Spokane, Jacob of Wenatchee and Larry BOWER of Anchorage, Alaska; 43 grandchildren and 48 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are brothers Hank Secrest of Redondo Beach. Wash., and Dennis Secrest of Seaside, Ore., plus sisters Ellen McVay of Moses Lake and Anna Faye Swain of Spokane. Another son, Dennis, died in 1958.
