Homer Newton Johnson b. 22 Jan 1889 in/near Woodside, PA married Caroline Alvine Christine Busse b. 21 Aug 1889 in Eagle Lake, IL, daughter of Sophia Thurnau and Wilhelm Busse of Beecher, Eagle Lake, IL.
Homer supposedly ran away from home as a boy and traveled out west to Washington State. Family tradition states that Pat's Grandmother, Carrie Busse, went by train to Washington State and that is where she met her future husband. Carrie's parents, William Busse and Sophy Thurnau (also seen as Turner) were living in MN or ND at the time. We do not know where Carrie was living when she went to Washington State. The Busse's supposedly had kin in Washington State and I've heard that there were Busse families in Pacific Co.

Family given names in my Busse family: Frederick, William, Louise, Carrie, Paulina, Alvina, Hermann. This family does not seem to connect with the Busse's of Elk Grove Village in IL who came from the Kingdom of Hannover.

Although I can't seem to locate anything on Carrie, your main concern, I do show a listing of a Busse family residing within the county of Pacific.

Robert G. (Gottlieb) Busse 1862-1947. m. Elida Ericksen. They had several issue.

Albert Busse m. Marguerite 'Peggy' Raemhild. Resided in OR in early 1900s. (1930s)

Gerald I. Busse m. Bonnie Lee ? and issued son & dau. Lived in South Bend.

Jacqueline Spa Busse m. Delbert Berquist, issued Lawrence, then divorced.

Nothing I like better than to have some good information to complete the picture. Thank you ever so much for the input.

In doing some research the family lore states that the Bandleader Henry Busse from Chicago was my great grandfathers cousin and that is how my grandfather got his middle name of Henry. They apparently were close friends in younger first immigrated days. Or maybe it was Henry's father? Anyway there may be a connection to Illinois or back east with maybe a few more of the German Busse's immigrated to the US. Cannot seem to find a connection of visits but it is certainly not out of the realm considering the Naselle/Pacific county area was pretty desolate back then.

According to family oral tradition, my grandmother, Caroline Alvine Christine Busse, met her husband Homer Newton Johnson when she took a train to visit relatives in Washington State.

"Carrie" was born in Eagle Lake, Will Co., IL to William and Sophia Busse and the family relocated to MN. Carrie is found in Wilkin Co., MN in the 1910 census.

I've been unable to connect any of the Busse family I've found from the Pacific Northwest to my Busse family in IL. William Busse was the son of Fred and Louise Busse who were in Addison, DuPage Co., IL circa 1859 prior to their move to Eagle Lake, Will Co., IL. Cenus says that Fred, Louise (Hengstmann) and daughter Louise came from Hanover

My family Busse, lived near Magdeburg in Germany, also the bandleader Henry Busse came from a small town near Magdeburg. Do you have more detaills about Henry Busse?
