Need 1920s/1930s era death/cemetery look-up help

I'm looking for the dates of death and places of burial for Rev. Charles A. Hodshire and his wife Mary (nee Winslow) Hodshire.

He was Methodist minister, born circa 1861 in Indiana, who was last known to be living at about age 65 in 1926 in Davenport.

She was born circa 1858 in Ohio, and was listed as living alone at about age 72 in Davenport in the 1930 census.

I'm assuming both died and were likely buried in Davenport (his daughter Alvah Maud Hodshire from a previous marriage married Robert A. Forkner, and died in 1957 in Salem OR).

Any help would be appreciated.

The Washington Death Certificate Index shows Charles Alva Hodshire died 23 October 1927 in Davenport, Lincoln County, at age 66 years, 2 months and 23 days (about 1861, August 1, or July 31). His wife was Mary Winslow Hodshire, Father James Hodshire, Mother Susan Brown.

And, as you found the 1930 Census shows Mary still living in Davenport.

While obits in that time frame were not as common as today, a minister of the community may have inspired one. In the 20's, most obit's were written by reporters on the famous, imfamous or victims of homicide or accidents. Most families did not want to spend the funds as anyone that knew them would know anyway...

BUT, I'd look for an obit. If one is found, it "might" show where he was buried:
The Washington State Library has a free research service, the ask-a-librarian program, where they will look for information in the archives, in this case the newspaper microfilm for an event, such as an obituary. They will look up to an hour and send you the results. Contact them at: http://www.secstate.wa.gov/library/ask.aspx .

There is no Hodshires listed in the Tombstones of Lincoln County book, but that does not mean they are not buried there. I have found several people whose obit says they were buried in Lincoln County, but either no tombstone or maybe they had a wooden one that has long ago rotted away. I will check the Spokane papers for an obit, but as Ron says not a lot of obits then. Charles Hodshire's death certificate has been filmed by the LDS and is on film# 2022413 and it might tell where he was buried also. Mary is not listed in the WA Death index nor in the Washington Marriages, so she may have died out of state

Charles
