CLARENCE V. HELMICK
Clarence V. Helmick, prominent Chehalis business man of the White Front grocery store of Chehalis, died in a Centralia hospital Friday morning, following an operation performed the previous Tuesday. Mr. Helmick had been in poor health for several months, and immediately following the operation improved for a time, but the shock was too much for his vitality. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, Rev. T. J. O'Conner officiating. Interment was in Mountain View cemetery, Centralia, E.C. Fissel in charge. The Chehalis Elks' Lodge, of which deceased was a charter member, had charge of the graveside services. Members of the Rebekahs of Centralia and Chehalis were in attendance. Deceased was also a member of the I.O.O. F. and Modern Woodmen. Mr. Helmick was 32 years of age and had been a resident of Lewis county fifteen years. He is survived by his wife and one son, Howard Helmick; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Helmick of Napavine: three brothers, Ora, Helmick of Indiana, and Orland and Nelson Helmick both of Napavine, and a sister, Mrs. O. W. Tachudin of Indiana
