Classification: Query
Opps didn't mean to open a new thread but to reply to a query. I'm not related to the Armsworthy family but a Esther Armsworthy married John Myers.
I live in North Carolina near Davie Co. I found a paper appointing Guardianship of Levi Armsworthy orphan of John Armsworthy to Joseph Chaffin 21 February 1821. There are also guardians for Gincy and Betsy. Betsy's guardian was Esther Armsworthy. Also, a paper asking for land to be laid off as dower for Esther Armsworthy heir of her husband John Myers.
I also have a deed of John Myers and Esther (formerly Armsworthy)to Daniel Armsworthy a slave-----
Most people doing Myers research thinks Esther Armsworthy is the mother of the Myers children. Im not one of them, Esther is listed in Rowan Co., N. C. 1820 census without a male old enough to be her husband 1 male 10-16, 1 male 18-26, 2 females 0-10, 1 female 16-18, 2 females 18-26 and 1 female over 45.
I have followed the deeds and paper trail, John Armsworthy must have died about 1819, the first reference of John Armsworthy, dec'd.
I did not know anything about Levi or Daniel and maybe I can figure something out now with all the information you sent.
Sorry about the confusion
