Seeking information on James SAMPLE b. abt 1872 in Ohio.
Mining in 1894 in the area of Roslyn, Kittitas Co WA. Married Eliza Whitehouse b. 1877 in IL. Their first child,
Patience Sample was born 25 Feb 1894 in Roslyn, Kittitas, WA.
I'm not having any luck finding them later in Kittitas but I do know that Patience married someone named Woolverton (where and when I don't know)
Patience Sample Woolverton died 02 Sep 1967 in Los Angeles County CA--according to the SSDI the last benefit was paid to someone living in San Pedro, Los Angeles CA.
Does anyone recognize any of these people who might be able to tell me where they went, names of other children or the first name of Patience's husband, or have access to Los Angeles area obits for that date?
Am also looking for ANYONE named WHITEHOUSE in Kittitas Co.
Of particular interest is Benjamin Whitehouse b. Sep 1829 in England. In 1900 he was residing with an Emma Robinson (believed to be a relative as his mother's maiden name was Robinson)and her 9yr old son William Robinson in Roslyn, age 70, a gardener. His wife, Patience BRAIN Whitehouse, had passed away during the 1890's.
By 1910 Emma has married a man named Frank (this spelling may not be right-I've found 3 of them) Laudensky, a Russian miner who spoke polish. They were married circa 1904 (censu s said married 6 yrs)had a 4yr old son named Albert Frank Laudensky and were still in Roslyn. Emma's son William Robinson was also still with them. Benjamin Whitehouse seems to be gone (perhaps passed away knowing his age)
If you have any info OTHER than what is posted on the Kittitas Genweb Project site on anyone named WHITEHOUSE, ROBINSON, LAUDENSKY or SAMPLE in Kittitas Co, please contact me at
