John Haskell 1886
My great-grandfather, John A. Haskell, died in Kittitas County, Washington on 6 October 1886. It has always been believed in our family that he died during the construction of the Stampede Pass Tunnel. He was the father of several children left behind in Goldendale, Klickitat County, WA including my grandfather, George A. Haskell, born 1879.
Does anyone know of a cemetery, or a monument, or some other edifice that commemorates this event? I have, over several years, corresponded with various entities -- including the Northern Pacific Railroad -- with no success. I have a copy of his probate records, so I am certain of my dates and of the location of his death.
