ERNST THEODORE SANDMEYER was half brother to my grandfather, JOHN HENRY SANDMEYER. they had the same father, born in seengen, switzerland, JOHANN HEINRICH SANDMEYER, (1839-1890 chicago, il) but different mothers. my grandfather's mother was nee ANNA STRAUMANN (1859-1951).
thank you for posting this information. i learned something new about the occupation of my great grandfather, who made watch cases in switzerland before emigrating to chicago.
