Dennis Earl Olson
Dennis Earl Olson, of Federal Way, died on June 3, 2002 after a yearlong battle with leukemia. Dennis joined the United States Air Force after graduating from high school in 1955. He served at Castle Air Force Base in Merced, California, where he met his wife, Claudette. They were married on May 28, 1960. Dennis worked for The Boeing Company from 1960 until 1995.

Dennis devoted himself to his family, his country and his Lodge throughout his life. He loved golf and was a member of the Tacoma Elks Lodge No. 174 since February 4, 1970. He served as an officer on the Board of Trustees from 1995 – 2000. Dennis was Chairman of the Board in 2000.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Claudette, their four sons Douglas, his wife Sherilee and daughter Hilary; Steven, his daughters Lindsay and Sarah; Robert, his wife JoAnna and their daughters Julianna and Brianna and Michael, his wife Donna and their son Zachary. His brother, Steven W. Olson and wife Marilyn and their daughter Ann, live in Spokane, Washington. His parents Earl and Ernestine Olson of Spokane, Washington precede him in death.

Viewing will be Thursday, June 6, 2002, from 1PM to 5PM at Bonney-Watson Funeral Home at 1535 Southwest Dash Point Road, in Federal Way. Funeral service will be Friday, June 7, 2002 at Gethsemane Cemetery, Federal Way. Viewing at Gethsemane begins at 9:30AM with the service at 11AM.

The family wishes to express thanks to the Doctors and Staff of the Oncology Ward at Virginia Mason Hospital, especially Dr. David Aboulafia and Dr. Brian L. McDonald. Remembrances may be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Washington.
