Thanks for the response.
The information posted is the full extent of what I know of this gentleman Albert M Hawley. Yes, I saw the 1900 census of his family in San Francisco. But, according to his grandson, Albert was not living with his wife at the time of his death, and my contact does not know the circumstances. My contact was not born until 26 years later, and his father was only a child. The story of Albert's whereabouts is rather murky, but his age & date of death is consistant.
On some death certificates, the place of burial is given, but on the document showing this Albert's death, the information is not provided. The only contradictory information on this death listing seems to be his place of birth; however, he grew up in Iowa, and his extended family lived in Iowa, also. So, perhaps Iowa is not stretching his data too far. Perhaps Albert was buried as a pauper by the county, or perhaps his railroad employer shipped the body back to San Francisco.
Thanks again for your suggestions.
