New information has been found in research for
Frans Jonsson Enholm (father of Swedish immigrants Sigfried
Enholm and David
Enholm, who immigrated in 1924 to U.S.) Frans legally changed his name in Sweden from
Jonsson to
Enholm, and records indicate that
Frans was born on the isle of Enholmen (formally thought to be the ranch name of a residence that he worked at).
The isle of Enholmen was an inlet where Sweden built a defense fortress (and
Frans' father
Elias Jonsson owned a hardware supply store at the time they started constructing the fortress.)
