Ron,
What I have is a marriage license and marriage certificate. They were married by a Baptist minister in Couer d'Alene. No ages were given on either the license or the certificate.
I saw the 1930 census record you mentioned, and as you say, there is no proof this is the June E. Long in question.
I've considered she may have gone home to her parents, but, of course, not knowing who they were, or where they were.. heck, we don't really know for sure she was born in Washington !!
We also have no clue as to his whereabouts in 1944 .. he may have still been in Washington State..we just don't know at this point.
Idaho said they checked for an annulment/divorce for Charles E. Hughes and didn't find anything in 1944 ...I seriously don't think HE filed, and at that time I didn't have her maiden name, so perhaps they can come up with something with her name, I don't know. Going to call them anyway, nothing ventured, nothing gained !!
IF they don't have anything under her name, I will contact the clerk of courts in Grant County.
