Am wanting location of and history of, Voorhees School that served the Hartline area 1899 and 1902, known for sure by souvenir school souvenir handouts. C.C. Hammerly taught in 1899, Frances Young taught in 1902. Pupils attending listed in each handout.

Suggest you call or write the Coulee Hartline School District.

Coulee Hartline School District
410 Locust Street / PO Box 428
Coulee City, WA 99115
509-632-5231

The Superintendent is Edward Fisk efisk@achsd.org

If you write/email, ask if they have a person that does the history or maintains. This School District may want to add your souvenir to their collection...if you wanted to part with it.

Much thanks--I thought I would never get one step beyond holding those two "programs" in my hands. My grandfather, his brothers, cousins, etc., are listed in both. He attended to third grade. 1902-1905. My mother also attended Voorhees a short time. By my time in Hartline, it was the 3-story, now abandoned school in Hartline. (Higginbotham line is mine)

Your clues are invaluable. Again, thank you. I would not be willing to part with them, but I certainly could photograph and e-mail them to those who might have an interest.

For that area about the only suggestion. Hopefully someone in that area will pick up and help. That area is very limited in resources. Maybe a school librarian, or local librarian might be another source. Some school districts are very helpful, even having old photo's; but, some couldn't care less.

Good Luck
