LODOEN - Morris & Phyllis

Hi All,

After receiving a lot of help from 2 wonderful people on the Washington & BC boards, I've discovered where a missing ancestor went to. Phyllis Henderson was born in Birmingham, England 1892, and was sent/emigrated alone to Canada 1901-ish, marrying Norwegian Morris Lodoen in 1910.

They lived for many years in Keller, Ferry County, and I'd be very grateful if anyone who knew them, or of them, would contact me so I could 'flesh out' what I know about Phyllis. There were 2 children, Paul (born c1916) and Ellen born c1912); Phyllis's obit says that they fostered 7 children. Morris died 1973, Phyllis in 1976.

I believe that Ellen married a Paul Van Doren, and Paul Lodoen may have died in Montana in Oct 1993.

Thanks,
Ellie

This sounds like my father's foster family. I have sent him a link to this thread to see if he can respond to you.

I am one of the seven foster children of Morris & Phyllis. My brother & sister are two more. My phone is 253 838 6157. Your best bet for a lot of information on them is the Republic newspaper & pioneer organizations in Republic. I can put you in touch with their grandchildren, but all thier children have died.

Hi,
Oh thanks for replying! I know that one of the foster children was named Ivan - he was in the army, stationed in Germany I think, and he once flew to England to visit Phyllis's brother Cyril, who was my grandad.

I'd love to phone you, but I don't know whereabouts you're living and I don't want to call you in the middle of the night. I'd also love to contact any of the foster or granchildren; if you'd like to contact me direct my email is jadiesmum@googlemail.com

I look forward to hearing from you; if anyone would like Phyllis's ancestors I have them back to early 1800s.

Regards,
Ellie

I am the grandson of Morris and Phyllis Lodoen. My wife and I live in Anchorage, Alaska and I have a married son who lives here also. I have lived in Anchorage since the 1960's and would love to talk with you about the Lodoen's and Phyllis Henderson. You can e-mail me at the following e-mail address: info@thegoldgunguy.com
I have an office phone number of 907-342-2000 and depending where you are calling from Alaska is 1 hour behind the West Coast up to 4 hours behind on the East Coast. I hope that you are still on this site as I see the first posting was in 2006 and I have just Googled the info this date.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Garry Paul Lodoen
