Can you tell me if the Laura Beard you are searching for was from Ill or MO? My g g grandmother was Anna Patricia Beard (married Jesse V. Crane). It is believed her mother was Laura Beard. I found a census record for 1880, Dade Cty, Mo which is the county Anna was later married in. Would this have any link to your Laura? All I have found out about her was that her first marriage (to a minister) ended in divorce because he was abusive. She then married Fredrick Beard, and had 3 children. But Fredrick died young leaving her a widow. When Anna became sick in 1907, her mother traveled to SD to take care of her.....until Anna passed away. My g grandfather never seen her again. I don't believe Anna's brother William Oliver Beard (who lived just a few miles from Anna in SD) ever seen her again either.
