I am reseaching the Schermerhorn family tree. I am from the branch in Saint Lawrence County, NY. My great-great Aunt Lucretia Schermerhorn married George Bickelhaupt, date and place unknown. George may have been a Corporal in Company K, 3rd Wisconsin Cavalry whose marriage in Milwaukee County, WI was on 24DEC1876. If that's them they may have come to Washington soon after.

The 1890 Census lists George and Lucretia Bickelhaupt in your Columbia County and that they are on the veterans schedule with ID #s WA1924268 and WA1924268. Lucretia was born 15NOV1848 in NY, daughter of and died 16DEC1904 there in WA.
ANY information on their children, circumstances of their life, ANYTHING is helpful. A centennial edition of the Schermerhorn Family in America is in the making and I need HELP!
