Was there ever a part of Clark County known as Shanghai? I found a marriage record on the Washington State Digital Archives for George W Atkins (of Fern Prairie, Camas area) and Josephine Kays (of Shanghai). The marriage took place 19 Jun 1900 in Shanghai. I can't imagine this couple, 18 & 16 years old respectively, would have married in Shanghai,China - especially since they show up on the 1900 censuses with their parents in Fern Prairie.
