Lani,
I know you are Richard's sister. I tried to look you up in the Federal Way area - to no avail. I had sent your Mother, Helen some information on me & my friendship with Rich, some 26 years ago. He was the "Big Brother" I never had and taught me a lot about having some self confidence. We met at Tally Corp in Kent and became roommates for a couple of years. I got married to a gal named Trish at the time & he met and was with Jean Harris.
Last I saw him, I was moving to Idaho to start a new life and we got together one last time to "suck-em-up" a term he and I used to have a couple of drinks. We talked about acheiving our fortunes, even though niether of us figured we'd ever get there.
Rich, or "Pineapple" as a lot of people called him, was a good guy. I had recently sold an Industrial Distribution Company in Southern California and was moving to St. George. I had asked some people how to find an old friend, shy of hiring a private investigator. They said to try the Ancestry pages first & then sadly the obituaries.
I had written your mother, after receiving her mailing address from a gentleman that knew Rich, from the VFW in the Peshastin area. Losing a loved one is a tough thing - it was tough to know he had gone on, even after so many years of not seeing him.
I wanted to share with him, the accomplishments of my life, due to his influence and share in some of the wealth in taking him deep sea fishing & maybe back to Hawaii after we got 'caught-up' and talked about those "old times".
The only thing I personally am looking for, is if you have a copy of a picture of him. The photo I have obtained was from the obituary, when he was a young marine. I knew him when he was in his early 30's & had a "goatee". If you could forward a picture, I would reimburse you for any incured costs or inconvenience.
E-mail me again and I will send you my PO Box
Thank You
