I am searching for the family of two soldiers who was killed in the Korea War. When they entered service they gave Benton County, Washington as their home of record.

Soldier: CLYDE NEIL FOSTER
Born: 1930 Caucasian
Date of loss: November 25, 1951 KIA

Soldier: GLENN EDWARD SHELL JR
Born: 1932 Caucasian
Date of loss: April 16, 1953

When the Korean War ended the enemy never returned or accounted for over 8,000 of our servicemen. They died in their hands. That was over 50 years ago. Since that time DNA has been perfected and also they are recovering remains in North Korea. Our government is obligated to return those remains to the proper family. DNA samples have been obtained from most of the families of these missing soldiers. For various reasons some families have not been located. There are 46 families from Washington that have not been located. There are two families from Benton County that has not been located.

When the remains are recovered and identified they will be returned to the family for proper burial. I am just an old (76 years) Combat Veteran out of the Korean War and thankful that I did return. I consider this a very noble cause and I hope that you can help in some way to find these families. For more information on the project you may go to http://www.jpac.pacom.mil/. My part in the program is to match up the lost families with the proper agency.

I will be grateful for any assistance in locating these families.

Paul Olsen of Kennewick, WA who died between 1960 and 1975

My adult grandson wants to learn about his family heritage on his father's side. My daughter and his father were divorced when he was very little and we know almost nothing about them.
The Paternal grandfather had been gone for quite some time before My daughter married his son. Now, both the father and the paternal grandmother are deceased too.

We would like VERY MUCH to find a death certificate, obituary, or cemetery listing regarding the demise of Paul Olsen, supposedly born somewhere around 1910, and died sometime between 1960 and 1975. The paternal grandmother, Dorothea Olsen, was adopted and we know absolutely nothing about her ancestry, and she died in Aug 1994 in Kennewick. The grandfather (Paul Olsen) is our only hope of giving his something concrete.

I have looked and looked for several years, and can find nothing concrete. There are several possibilities, but none of them seem to pan out.

Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Searching for information on George Mottinger of Mottinger, WA,a railway siding in Horse Heaven Hills. George was born in Illinois in 1862, and died in Kennewick in July, 1936. He and his wife began farming and ranching in 1894. The Mottinger post office opened in 1908. Mr. Mottiner was postmaster until his death; his step-son Edwin A. Westermeyer, then served until the post office was discontinued in 1951.

His widow was Dollie and he had two sons, William and Cecil. William, I believe, was born in CA and married Bernice (born in Tennessee) and they had in 1928 a girl named Lola Mae Harris.
Cecil was living in Washington in 1930 with mother Dollie (age 58) born Michigan and Bernice and Lola Mae.

John and Ella (Hollis) Wood

Seeking information on Rev. Jonathan "John" Wood. He was a Methodist minister and Ella was his second wife. After he retired I think that they lived in Benton County, probably around the Kennewick area. Supposedly he lived the last few years on his ranch on the banks of the Columbia River.

He was born 12 December 1852 in Iowa or Ohio, have both places.

He died in 1914 and was living in Kennewick in 1910 with his wife Ella, and his daughter Mary.

I certainly would like to determine where he is buried and if there is an obit for him.

Looking for obit for Frederick E. Evans. He was in the 1910 census for Benton County, Kennewick Precinct and died Nov. 7, 1910. I am not sure if he died in Kennewick Precinct.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Family bible says death was in Spokane, Idaho. Don't believe there is such a place.

Looking for the cemetery and grave location of Elijah B. Crow that may be buried in in Benton Co., WA. Elijah B. Crow was born 24 Mar 1872 in AL, and according to his Washington State death record he died on 4 Mar 1948 in Benton Co., Washinton. He and his wife, Susie/Sissie appear on the 1920 and 1930 census for Riverside, Benton Co., Washington.

Believe they had a son named Horace Crow that died in 1918 in Prosser, Benton Co., Washington. They had an adopted daughter, Helen Crow, born about 1918 in Washington, per the 1930 census.

Any and all information on any member of this family will be very much appreciated.

I"m wondering if someone would do a bit of looking for me. ( I live in PA) I'm looking for information on the family of Charles Hessler and Amy Rose Hessler. According to census they had one son Walter. LDS site says Amy died 11 Mar 1918 in Grandview, Yakima, WA, but also says she was buried in Kennewick, Benton, WA. I have sort of surmised that those two places are quite close together. As above, I"m interested in copies of obits and hopefully burial locations for Charles, Amy and Walter. Thanks in advance!

I am looking for my great-grandmother, Julia (Smylie) LANE, who last lived in Prosser in 1932. I am not sure of her date of death or if she remarried. In the 1930 US Federal Census, she was living in Prosser, age 56 (born October 1873 in Iowa), divorced, and sons Vivien and Virgil were living with her. She was a practical nurse. Hoskinson, son of Civil War veteran Riley M. and Martha (Fisher) Hoskinson, was born circa 1857 in Illinois. By 1885, William C. Hoskinson was married to Mary E. Fowler (born circa 1863 in England). William C. and Mary E. (Fowler) Hoskinson had at least four children: Albert Hoskinson, born Nov. 8, 1892 in Kitsap County; Wendell P. Hoskinson, born circa 1893 in WA; Johnny C. Hoskinson born April 24, 1902 and died May 11, 1902; and Cecil Hoskinson, born March 17, 1903 and died August, 1973 in Seattle, WA. In 1910 William C. and Mary E. Palms in Horse Heaven Country

Seeking information on Benjamin and Teresa Palms. They moved from Port Blakeley, WA to Horse Heaven Country near Prosser, WA abt 1906 with two daughters Edna and Elizabeth. Teresa was not healthy and died abt 1910. I would like to know if she is buried in a local cemetery and locate her obit. Ben and Teresa homesteaded their property. After Teresa died Ben returned to MI for a short time. He returned to WA where he placed his young daughters in the Seattle Childrens Home Society as he couldn't raise them. The girls were in the home for nearly 10 years.

I will gladly pay for any copies of whatever and pay for postage. Will be happy to send a SASE.

I am researching family ancestors that settled in the Horse Heaven Hills, Benton Co., Washington. They settled on a homestead during 1910, for 3 years. After which, some of them moved to the Toppenish/Wapato area of Yakima Co., Washington.
Norma E. Thomas and her four children moved to the Prosser/Toppenish area, from Barry Co., MO., some time between 1910 and 1921 to be near the Beason family (cousins). I am descended from this line of Thomas.
A Walter T. Beck, married to a Lennie Beason, resided in Prosser, Benton Co., Washington during early 1920's but I also need further information regarding this family.
The Beason family is a part of the Thomas family (circa 1890) from Barry Co., Missouri.
A Ken Baker was married to either a Beck or a Beason descendant and resided in the Wapato/Toppenish area of Yakima Co., WA. during the early 1950's. They had a son named Ken and some daughters as well.
I am looking for descendants of the afore mentioned families.

They appear in the 1910 Benton County Census for Prosser but also have family information that prior to that they either lived in the community of White Bluffs or had a place on the Columbia near the White Bluffs. They traveled by row boat down the Columbia to Pasco and then on to Prosser. Charles Henry/Esther Ann are my Grandparents. He emigrated 1880 and in 1887 his sister Ingerd, b. 21 May 1862, emigrated with sister Hanna, b. 15 June 1845. Hanna went with son Bernt, b. 18 Jan 1879, son Frans, b. 6 Dec 1880, daughter Carolina, b. 23 Aug 1883, son Carl Johan, b. 20 Feb 1885 and son John, b. 29 Sept 1886. Hanna's husband Johannes JOHANNESSON (in US John JOHNSON?), born 1855, emigrated the year before in 1886. Carl or possibly any other of these may have lived in Stanwood WA at the beginning of century. Any hints welcome!

1889 in Hickory Co. Missouri died 3/1961 in Walla Walla
Wash. Buried in a cemetary in Grandview In 1916 EHW was
living in Brighton, MO Married Anna Beasley Stevens (born
10/30/1893 in Oreana) of Macon County Illinois date

EHW may have had relatives living in Stanford KY (Mrs S. O.
ESTES) and Bolivar MO in 1916 but there is no firm
information about this.

In 1916 EHW had a son, Glen Elmer Wilson DOB 7/14/1916
Brighton MO

Sometime before 1926 EHW moved to Washington State in the
town of Grandview where the family attended the First
Methodist Episcopal Church (Grandview) where Glen Elmer went
to sunday school and was baptised.

His son Glen Elmer Wilson married Metha Mae Howard January
1, 1938 probably in Grandview Parents of Meetha May Howard
Charles Howard Onie Fryer. Glen Elmer and Meetha Mae had
four children: Dorethy Mae, Glenna, Shirley, James Douglas
born between 1940-1944.

I was unable (perhaps through an improper search) to locate
any information on the First Methodist Episcopal Church. I
would like to know where these records may be found, and
what happened to the church.

We would appreciate any information you may wish to forward
to us about Elbert Human Wilson, or his children, brothers
and sisters and other family members.
