George Mottinger and his first wife Martha raised my grandmother (Myrtle Edna Brown Spears, 1890-1944)as their foster daughter from the age of 10. We have wonderful photographs of life near the Columbia River in WA. The Mottingers educated Myrtle and treated her as their own. George was the postmaster at Mottinger in Benton County, WA. There was also a Mottinger railroad stop. I believe this property is now under water from the McNary Dam, but I am investigating this at the present time. Would enjoy sharing our information with family as the Mottingers were so good to my grandmother.
