I am hoping that a kind soul could do an obituary lookup for Hulda M Porter.
Place of Death: Clarkston, Asotin County
Date of Death: 12 Jan 1954 Age: 70

I am trying to confirm if she is the great grandmother of a friend of mine who is searching to locate living relatives. Hulda's maiden name was Nelson and she had a previous marriage of Sheffler/Schreffler.

GARFIELD PIONEER TAKEN BY DEATH

Mrs. Hulda Mabel Porter, 70, of 1246 Eighth St, pioneer of Garfield County, died at 1:40 Tuesday afternoon, at the Tri-State Memorial hospital, of cerebral hemorrhage. She had suffered a stroke on Saturday, and failed to rally.
Hulda Mabel Nelson was born July 24, 1883, at Farnsworth Siding, Penn., At the age of three, she moved with her parents to Garfield County. She married Max Shreffler in 1902, at Pomeroy. He died two and a half years later. She married Dennis Porter, who survives her, on July 1, 1907 in Lewiston, Idaho. They have made their home here since the fall of 1944.
Ten Children:
Besides her husband, Mrs. Porter is survived b y ten children:
Lloyd Shreffler, of Deary, Idaho; Mrs. Eleanor Kime, 1516 8th St.; Mrs. Anna Thornton, Leland Idaho: Mrs. Velma Davis, Great Falls, Mont; Mrs. Zelma Daniels, Lenore, Idaho; Lewis Porter, Orofino, ID; Chester Porter, Lakeview, Ore; George Porter, Elk River, Idaho; Mrs. Charlotte Kennedy, Elgin, Ore; and Mrs. Maycelle Emmett, Kendrick, Idaho.

Other survivors are four brothers: Albert Nelson, Seattle; Guy Nelson, Hermiston, Ore; Arthur Nelson, Richland; Theodore Nelson, Carter, Mont;
And three sisters: Mrs. Anna Kinsey, Yakima, Mrs. Alma Upton, Homedale, Idaho: and Mrs. Jennie Schreffler, Idaho Falls, Idaho:
Thirty-two Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.

The services will be held at 1:30 o'clock Saturday from the Merchnt Funeral Home, with Mr. Ernie Morris officiating and internment in Vineland Cemetery.
All Surviving relatives are expecting to be here for the services, with the possible exception of one brother and one sister who are in ill health.

I am the grandson of george dennis porter, my mothers name is Carol Gene Porter. I am looking for any information on this arm of the family.

Do you have any information concerning or contact with any descendants of Zelma Porter Daniels? She was married to David Daniels, son of Edward Daniels and Effie Smylie Daniels. Effie and my great-grandmother were sisters. I am actively researching the Smylie family and would welcome contact with other Smylie descendants and am willing to share whatever information I have.
