Re: G.S. Wallace's booklet. I am on page 12 of that booklet.I am the daughter of Richard Carter Kendall and Margaret Williamson. I go by Peggylee. I get a bit confused when I get to page 15 as it has Catherine Sclater marrying William Howard. Issue surname Sclater. Shouldn't that be issue surname Howard? I have a younger sister and brother, by 12 and 15 years. Same parents! Would appreciate anyone with any info about occupations of Sclaters. Richard Sclater(1810 to 1880) married Emily Apphia Carter (1821 to 1892). They were my great grandparents.

There are two possibilities for Catherine Sclater -
Either she was a widow (do you know her parents?) and this was a second marriage to Howard; or
Her mother was dead, and these were her younger siblings.

David, I am sorry . I just picked up your message. The Sclater Family booklet was written by Geore Selden Wallace. He gave it to family members. My father was a distant cousin of his. It is possible the Higginson Book Store might be able to get yu a copy as they do out of date books. I got a copy of the Carters of Blenheim form them. Emily Apphia Carter, dau of William Fauntleroy Carter and Maria Logan Woodson. She married Richard Sclater. hoope this is of some help to you.
