Greetings all,
Ann Billups married Christopher Wynn March 27, 1831 Norfolk.
Ann Billups born Jan. 29, 1800 in Norfolk, Virginia.

Elizabeth Wingo's book on marriages for that time period lists the bond as being on 26 March 1821 (not 1831). She also states that the surety for the marriage was "Robert Billups" who was also Ann's father.

Robert L. Billups (4/25/1774-bef. 1860) md 1810 to Louisa Wynn (c1790- 1875). He was the Commander of the brig Louisa in 1813. Their children are shown to be: Amanda (c1815- ), George Robert L(andry) (1816-1870) [lost an arm in Texas war for independence – 1836], Helene Ellenora (c1824- ) [Nun in Baltimore], Serena (c1830-1901) - - all born in Baltimore.

My Laura Virginia_____Thompson born June 15,1812 Norfolk, Virginia. She married Mr Thompson about 1832. Laura died 1892 Baltimore, MD.

Ann Billups born Jan 29, 1800 Norfolk, VA.
Married March 26, 1821 to Christopher Wynn.
She would have been 20.
Although I have no info on a prior marg., it could be possible for Robert to have been married prior to 1800 as he would have reached age of 20 in 1794. From the data that I have, what strikes me most is that there is so little info available for him, he was first married at age 36 (?) to a 20 yr old & was obviously a career seaman to have been a Cmdr of the Louisa in 1813 @ age 39.

Their father could have been "The Robert Billups" listed as father on Ann's marriage record. He might have been born about 1754, he would be 20 when Robert was born in 1774, 46 years old when Ann was born Jan. 29,1800, age 58 in 1812 when my Laura Virginia___ was born.
Laura Virginia____Thompson did name her daughter Ann Elizabeth Thompson b.1833. Martin's mother was Ann T. Willoughby . Ann married 1859 to Martin V.B. Clough and named her daughter Sarah Laura Clough after Sarah Froggett who married Captain Paul Gold. And all are buried along side at the Wynn Family plot in New Cathedral Cemetery in BaltimoreNew Cathedral cemetery said only family would have been buried in that plot.
Thanks for any and all information in advance.
Tom Thompson
Bradenton, Florida.
