Addie was Addie L. Edwards born c 1858 in Maryland to Yarrett/Jarrett and Catherine Edwards. She was first married to Samuel Clingham/Clingan, had children Elsie, Elmer, Harry, Lillie. A son John died at a job in West Virginia (see Chronicling America website - Virginia Citizen newspaper). On July 4, 1904 she married Charles A. Shugars son of James L. and Mary Shugars. Marriage record shows he was from Carroll County, Maryland. Charles had a brother named Samuel Wells Shugars. Elsie married a Gaines, Harry married Goldie Ashburn.
