I'm trying to determine the parentage of William Moore of York County, VA, who married Elizabeth Wright in 1819.

Many tree, and a printed genealogy or two, list his DOB as ca. 1800 and his parents as Merritt Moore and Frances Ann Robinson. I've yet to see any evidence cited to support this fact, though.

In fact, reviewing the census data from 1820-1840 makes me think it's more likely that the subject was born ca. 1795, and his father was the William Moore born in 1775, listed in the Charles Parish Register.

So, I'm hoping someone who has access to more resources than I could point me towards some evidence to support either assumption!
